Indonesia Visitor Visa file preparation
Indonesia eVisa / eVOA photo requirements
The face photo is simple only if you separate three checks: visual quality, pixel/ratio preparation, and the file-size limit shown by the portal.

Quick check
- Use a recent color photo facing forward.
- Prepare a 4 x 6 cm style portrait, at least 400 x 600 px.
- JPG/JPEG/PNG is listed; the Visitor Visa FAQ says max 200KB.
- Avoid glare, blur, strong expression, and a background that competes with the face.
Start from the upload screen, not from another country guide
Indonesia eVisa / eVOA photo preparation is not the same as a square visa photo or a print-photo guide for another country. The registration screen describes a portrait photo: 4 x 6 cm, at least 400 x 600 px, in JPEG/JPG/PNG.
The public Visitor Visa FAQ adds a stricter practical limit: both the passport bio image and the passport-size photograph are described as JPG/JPEG/PNG with a maximum size of 200KB.
Visual checks before export
- Face forward with the head level and both eyes visible.
- Use a recent color photo; avoid old profile images reused from social media.
- Keep the background plain and bright enough that the head outline is clear.
- Do not over-smooth, recolor, or reshape the face.
- Export a clean file from the original camera image, not a screenshot of a printed photo.
How to handle the 200KB / 2MB difference
The registration help text includes a 2MB maximum, while the Visitor Visa FAQ states 200KB for the Visitor Visa request. Because these screens can change by visa type and step, the safest article-level advice is not to pretend the conflict does not exist.
For Visitor Visa / eVOA preparation, make a readable file under 200KB when possible, then compare it with the latest upload message in your own application.

Common Indonesia eVisa / eVOA Upload Mistakes to Avoid
Many Indonesia eVisa / eVOA uploads are slowed down by avoidable file errors. Check these points before you submit:
Different screens show different maximum sizes. Over-compressing to fit 200KB can make the face or MRZ unreadable, while trusting the 2MB hint may still get the file rejected by the upload field.
Reflections on the machine-readable zone or the photo field stop the data from being read. Photograph the bio page in flat, even light without flash.
The registration screen asks for a 4 x 6 cm photo at least 400 x 600 px. A face that is too large, too small, or the wrong aspect ratio can be rejected.
Cutting off a corner, the MRZ, or the photo field means the document cannot be verified. Keep the full bio page inside the frame.
Patterned walls, strong side light, or shadows across the face obscure facial features. Use a plain light background lit evenly from the front.
Saving as HEIC or a format the portal does not accept, or JPEG quality so low the face looks blocky, causes rejection. Export as JPG/JPEG/PNG.
Why Use the Indonesia Visa Photo App?
Check and resize the face photo and passport image so they meet the size shown on your application screen, without over-compressing until the text blurs.
Crop the page precisely so the MRZ, photo, and all text fields stay inside the frame and remain readable after export.
Your photos stay on your iPhone. Nothing is uploaded to a server while you prepare the files.
Output JPG/JPEG/PNG at the 4 x 6 cm / 400 x 600 px guidance so the file matches what the registration screen expects.
Note: This app is an independent helper tool that prepares image files only. It does not submit Indonesia visa applications and does not guarantee acceptance, visa issuance, or entry. Always confirm the latest requirements on the official Indonesia eVisa portal.

FAQ
Is PNG allowed?
The public pages list JPG/JPEG/PNG. JPEG is usually easier to compress under 200KB while keeping a normal photo appearance.
Does the photo need text or labels inside the image?
No. Keep the image as a clean face photograph. Do not add text, borders, stickers, or document labels.
