The official web and mobile routes have different photo and capture boundaries.
A face photo, passport information-page PDF, and supporting documents are different artifacts.
The current photo page and upload-error guidance are both shown without inventing one winner.
These values are projections from the New Zealand route resolver. JPG/JPEG, 3:4, and 35×45mm are route-specific values; a country label is not a universal validator.

The paper route uses 35 × 45 mm photos and requires 2 photos. Do not use the paper size as an online pixel rule.
No. NZeTA web, the NZeTA mobile app, and Immigration Online are separate channels. The app-specific selfie guidance must not be generalized.
No. It organizes current official route-specific guidance. Re-check the live instructions before uploading, especially because online photo limits are not fully consistent. The paper size is 35 × 45 mm; online guidance uses JPG / JPEG and a maximum of 3 MB.
