Hungary Study Visa (D) photo requirements

What the official information confirms

The Hungary study visa (National D, stay over 90 days for study purposes) is applied for in person at the Embassy of Hungary in Tokyo by appointment, submitting the printed photo as one of the application documents. In Japan, eligibility is limited to Japanese nationals and foreign nationals holding Japanese residence status.

This tool prepares the print photo only; the appointment and the in-person application remain the applicant's own actions. The same embassy's Schengen visa (35×45 mm print) is a separate route with the same size, and the Enter Hungary digital photo (residence permit extension) differs in medium and procedure.

• The official page requires one passport-size print photograph of 35 x 45 mm (width x height).
• The required number of photos is 1 photo.
• The photo must be in colour, as officially required.
• The background must be plain, as officially required; the official page does not specify a particular background colour (「背景無」/ no background specification).
• The photo must be taken within the last 6 months, as officially required.

How unspecified conditions are handled
