Hungary study residence permit extension (Enter Hungary) photo requirements
This guide shows confirmed conditions and does not guess unspecified dimensions or file limits.
Confirmed conditions
- The uploaded photo must be in JPEG format; PNG is explicitly rejected by the official guidance.
- File-size limit confirmed in the official record: within 3 MB.
- The photo must be no more than 3 months old, as officially required.
- Pixel dimensions, physical size, aspect ratio, face geometry, background, and DPI are not specified by the official page and remain unregistered in the Requirement record.
- The total size of all attachments per case must not exceed 80 MB (the EH Terms case-level limit, separate from the 3 MB per-photo cap).
What the official information confirms
For a study residence permit extension filed on Enter Hungary (OIF), the applicant uploads the ID photo file and attaches it to the case themselves (two-step storage -> attach). Initial applications, White Card, family, employment, and WHS are outside the scope of this record.
Uploading the photo does not replace the in-person biometric recording within 15 days of submission (a separate mandatory step; the application is deleted if not completed). The Tokyo consular Study D visa (printed photo, 35×45 mm) differs in medium and procedure, and its size is not treated as an official Enter Hungary requirement.
